Another called meeting of the Sanhedrin

"What are we accomplishing? Here is this man performing many miraculous signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and then the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation."

Caiaphas the High Priest

"You know nothing at all! You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish."

Caiaphas had prophecies that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation and for the scattered children
of God...to bring them together and make them one.

From that day on they plotted to kill Jesus!

What did the Sanhedrin Admit?
They could not deny Jesus did miraculous signs.
Many believed in Jesus.
Jesus was a threat to their power and influence.
They were concerned with their status with Rome.

They were acting like Jesus said they would!
"You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry
out your father's desire."
(John 8:44)

Jesus no longer moved around publicly among the Jews.
The Jews gave orders that anyone who saw Jesus should tell them...so they could arrested him.
