Sacrifice and Devotion Mary washed the feet of Jesus with
perfume
and dried his feet with her hair. Consider all that happened to Mary and her family in
chapter 11.
This is not the same woman who anointed Jesus' feet in Luke 7.
Mark 14 tells us the dinner was at the house of Simon the Leper and
Mary also poured perfume on his head.
Judas
acted like the thief he was!
(Read John 12:6)
"Why wasn't this
perfume sold and the money given to the poor? It was
worth a year's wages."
Jesus
"'Leave her alone,'
Jesus replied. 'It was intended that she should save this perfume for
the day of my burial. You will always have the poor among you, but you
will not always have me.'"
"She has
done a beautiful thing to Me." (Mark 14:6)
